Moving your records into PracticeHub by talking to an AI assistant — hand Claude your old system’s export and supervise while it does the typing — is something we’re building towards. It isn’t possible yet.

Why not

During the limited rollout, AI connectors are deliberately read-only: the MCP server exposes no write tools, so a connected assistant can look things up but cannot create records — which is exactly what a migration is. This is a scoping decision, not a limitation of the assistants: we’re rolling connector access out carefully, reads first, before switching on the ability to write to a clinic’s account.

What to do instead

Migrate over the REST API: Importing your data covers what can move, and Data migration over REST is the step-by-step developer guide — shapes, ordering, idempotency, verification and throughput. Everything an assistant would have imported can be imported this way today.

When it arrives

Assistant-driven migration will come with write access for connectors, later in the rollout. The changelog will announce it.
